Architecture
Communications architecture for the distributed equipment and its connection to the central control system.
PROJECT PROFILE · IOT & CONNECTED SYSTEMS · INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION
A communications architecture designed to restore reliable automatic operation across distributed process equipment.

THE CHALLENGE
The existing installation had communication problems affecting two compost turners and two transfer units at a wastewater treatment facility.
The operational objective was to restore reliable communications between the four pieces of equipment and recover automatic operation through the central control HMI.
OUR SOLUTION
Biagency designed a replacement radio communications architecture using licence-free industrial radios and associated antennas, cabling, supports and power supplies.
The solution included configuration of the new radio network, interconnection with the control-room HMI and provision for future maintenance and access.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
Communications architecture for the distributed equipment and its connection to the central control system.
Radio configuration, network setup and technical definition of the required equipment and accessories.
Removal of the existing radio equipment and installation of the new communication solution, including associated electrical work.
Local testing, system validation and commissioning plan for the connected equipment.
TARGET IMPACT
Restore reliable communications between the four distributed process assets
Recover automatic operation of the installation through the central control system
Provide a maintainable communications solution with equipment and tools available for future intervention
PROJECT PERSPECTIVE“A robust communications layer is essential here: once the distributed equipment is reliably connected again, the installation can return to controlled automatic operation.”
